Engineering STEAM challenge
In this engaging engineering challenge, students explore plant needs and the role herbivores play in ecosystems. Learners investigate how animals interact with plants and what strategies gardeners and farmers use to protect vegetation from being eaten. Using this knowledge, students design and build their own garden structures that shield a plant from herbivores while still allowing sunlight, air, and water to reach it. The challenge ties science directly to everyday problem-solving, giving students a meaningful connection between engineering design and environmental stewardship.
Engagement Kits are designed for large-scale engagement nights. These kits make hosting a STEAM event easy for coordinators and staff. Kits include: steam challenge(s), all necessary materials, a lesson plan, participant print options, projection options, student examples for reference, guided videos, and setup instructions. Marketing resources can be added for an additional fee. Pricing varies based on the expected number of participants. Engagement kits are available for 50+ participants.

Individual STEAM Kits are perfect for individual learners and small groups. Each personalized, ready-to-go kit includes: a student page outlining the STEAM challenge, student drafting pages, guided videos when needed, and all essential materials. Individual Kits are ideal for families, small groups, and as extension activities for individual learners.
