Baby Animal Carriers

Engage students in life science and engineering as they explore how animal parents help their young survive. In this lesson, learners investigate different ways mothers transport and protect their offspring—from carrying them in pouches or on their backs to safely moving them away from danger. Using this knowledge, students are challenged to design and build a carrier that can safely transport a baby animal model away from a “predator” during interactive testing.
