Engineering STEAM challenge
Transport students to the Arctic tundra as they learn about polar bears and the extreme conditions faced during Arctic winters. In this engaging engineering lesson, learners discover how pregnant polar bears survive harsh climates by hibernating in specially designed shelters. Students are then challenged to use marshmallows and toothpicks to build sturdy shelters that could protect a hibernating polar bear, integrating science concepts with creative problem-solving and design. The fun, hands-on construction encourages collaboration and deepens understanding of adaptation and survival in one of Earth’s most formidable environments.
Engagement Kits are designed for large-scale engagement nights. These kits make hosting a STEAM event easy for coordinators and staff. Kits include: steam challenge(s), all necessary materials, a lesson plan, participant print options, projection options, student examples for reference, guided videos, and setup instructions. Marketing resources can be added for an additional fee. Pricing varies based on the expected number of participants. Engagement kits are available for 50+ participants.
