Challenge students to become engineers as they learn about tornadoes and design shelters to protect a figurine from powerful storms. In this engaging lesson, learners explore how tornadoes form and investigate real-world engineering solutions for storm safety. Students test their ideas by building shelters and using a blow dryer to simulate tornado winds—making science, problem solving, and interactive testing come alive in an unforgettable classroom activity!
Engagement Kits are designed for large-scale engagement nights. These kits make hosting a STEAM event easy for coordinators and staff. Kits include: steam challenge(s), all necessary materials, a lesson plan, participant print options, projection options, student examples for reference, guided videos, and setup instructions. Marketing resources can be added for an additional fee. Pricing varies based on the expected number of participants. Engagement kits are available for 50+ participants.
